We rehomed a ex-racer greyhound called Storm he had broken his jock racing he had the very best care by his ex trainer and still loves visiting her. He startednl heavy limping a few months ago didnāt want to jog like he used to alongside my mobility scooter he just looked like he wasnāt happy walking. Took him to the vets who manipulated his leg and checked him over said he had arthritis and he wasnāt in pain with all the manipulation he did. But he said he will prescribe painkillers.,so I said why does he need pain meds if you say heās not in pain? Iām not happy with that Iād prefer a more natural approach first. The vet just kept pushing painkillers so I pointnbkanked refused. So started looking for natural ways to help him. After days I came across Ace canine contacted them and had such a lovely response suggesting I try the sprinkles first and if not the capsules. Unfortunately the sprinkles did nothing for his limping. So I started him on the capsules. Storm does have where his hock broke its a lot thicker than the other leg and at times would swell up. I had also noticed his pads on that leg one looked abit different and hard so more research and found could be beginning of a corn which greyhounds are prone to get. Or grit or a foreign object had worked itās way in as they donāt have fatty pads like most dogs. So we started him on sprinkles took him back to vet regarding his suspected corn or bit of grit etc on pad again vet said it was fine. Again wasnāt happy. So contacted Storms kennel manager as he was due for blood donering and she also clips his claws. Took him over and straight away she said foreign and the pad had hardened over. So she scraped the layer of got tweezers and finally grit pinged out she sprayed it and noticed his hock wasnāt as swollen. So few days later he wanted to jog a little so allowed him. We bathe his feet Vaseline them they are now so soft. He is now on his second tub of Flexcel CMO/Celadrin canine anti inflammatory capsules I know have a greyhound who is loving life is jogging with me most of his walks heās loving his zoomies again. His hock looks almost like his other. Iām so glad I found Ace Canine Storm will be always on them I canāt wait to see the vets face when he next sees Storm.,Iām fuming though that if I had listened Iād have had him on expensive pain meds and he doesnāt need them. Thankyou Ace Canine for suggesting Flexcel and giving me a very happy fit greyhoundcwhose got his running legs again.
